Rethinking Design for Dis/Re/Assembly in Spatial Panel Systems

Insights from Teaching-Based Prototyping Research

This exhibit presents a prototype developed through teaching-based research in Hong Kong. In response to the construction industry’s low recycling rates, the project draws inspiration from traditional log construction to rethink design for disassembly in contemporary practice. Through prototyping, it introduces a novel reversible connection, offering a new approach to how spatial panels can be assembled and reused.
