Jonas Holst Associate Professor and Intellectual Historian, San Jorge University

“As an Intellectual Historian focusing on technology, I have found a rich space to discuss my ideas and research within the ICSA and IASA community. Their members have encouraged me, through their broad-minded and critical thinking, to keep up my research on past cultures’ diverse understanding of building and dwelling.“

Jan Wurm Arup, EU Engagement Lead / Professor Regenerative Design at KU Leuven

“ICSA establishes common ground for our shared challenges. I found the format of the embedded mini-symposium on bio-design especially valuable.

It gave me the opportunity to connect with leading researchers and experts from academia and industry around the world to align trajectories of a transformative bio-based building practice.”

Paulo J. S. Cruz Professor Construction and Technology at the University of Minho / IASA President (2016-2022)

“Just as the IASA logo represents the five continents in an abstract truss structure, IASA will enthusiastically stimulate the inventive and creative design of architectural structures and persuade architects and structural engineers to collaborate in this process, exploiting together new concepts, applications and challenges”
