Colloqui.At.e 2024 Ar.Tec. Conference: “Architectural Engineering in Italy and Worldwide: comparing experiences”, June, 12-15, 2024, Palermo, Italy
Ar.Tec. Conference “Colloqui.At.e 2024 – Architectural Engineering in Italy and Worldwide: comparing experiences” will be held in Palermo, Sicily, IT, during 12-15 June 2024 (https://2024.artecweb.org/en/).
Architectural Engineering has been recently identified as the discipline with the highest potential in the fight against climate change. It promotes the construction of sustainable, resilient, adaptive, and high-performance buildings, to meet the needs of increasingly evolving, sophisticated and cutting-edge users. In those countries with a high Human Development Index (HDI), these users push designers to rapidly think of new ways of inhabiting buildings and cities to ensure the well-being, safety, and health of its occupants, along with the rational use of resources and the protection of the environment.
The conference is organized under the auspices of Ar.Tec. (https://www.artecweb.org/), the Scientific Society of Architectural Engineering Scientific Sector in Italy that is, also, a non-profit association established in 2002 by architecture and building technology scholars. Its main goal is the promotion of the cultural and professional growth of researchersas well as people who work in the design, construction and production fields of both engineering and architecture. It also aims at spreading the technical knowledge throughout the scientific communities and related SMEs.
By comparing training, research, and project experiences, during the conference we will discuss the role of the Architectural Engineer, in Italy and abroad, from the design, construction and building management point of view, in the past and in the future.
The conference will facilitate the meeting of international participants interested in the recent advances in practice and theory of architecture and engineering, which are mutually enhanced. It includes architects, structural and construction engineers, builders and building consultants, construction industry persons, academics, researchers, students, product manufacturers, material suppliers, government authorities and others.
The 2024 conference will focus on 3 main topics (http://2024.artecweb.org/en/topics-2/):
A) Construction and conservation history;
B) Building construction and performance;
C) Building design and technologies.
Day 13 and 14th of June will be divided into 5 sessions: 2 plenary sessions and 3 sessions focused on the main topics of the conference with lectures held by both Italian and International experts. There will also be an introductive seminar on “Architectural Engineering: training, research and design”, open to professional organizations.
On the 12th of June, FORMATI, INNOVATI and the Smart Building Road Show 2024 events will take place in parallel.
Ar.Tec FORMATI is a short training program that aims at putting together the most useful skills to create and manage a research project aspiring to European competitions.
Ar.Tec. INNOVATI is an annual competition for PhD students and researchers that promotes the development of Ar.Tec associates’ research activities by creating a network among scientific institutions.
The Smart Building Road Show 2024 (https://www.smartbuildingitalia.it/roadshow-2024/) will take place in parallel with FORMATI and INNOVATI events.
The new DEADLINE to submit the full paper for Colloqui.AT.e 2024 is February 16th 2024.
Springer will publish the Conference Proceedings in “Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering” book series (https://www.springer.com/series/15087 ), indexed in SCOPUS.
The official language of the papers is English.
A selection of the submitted papers will be published in a thematic volume also published by Springer, after the conference.
The book of abstract will be published by EdicomEdizioni.
