ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ARCHITECTURE, TENURE-TRACK

Oklahoma State University School of Architecture is accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Architecture. The successful candidate is required to teach design studios and lecture and seminar courses in areas related to architecture. While the position is primarily focused on teaching, all faculty are expected to maintain a robust creative and scholarly agenda and engage in service activities that advance the mission and goals of the School, College, and University.

About the OSU School of Architecture

For more than 116 years, the School of Architecture has provided professional education in architecture and architectural engineering, combining a rigorous design curriculum with a strong emphasis on technology and building systems integration.

The School offers three undergraduate degree programs and a Graduate Certificate, supported by a dedicated faculty of 18 collaborating with a student body of 450:

  • Bachelor of Architecture – NAAB-accredited professional degree
  • Bachelor of Architectural Engineering – ABET-accredited professional degree
  • Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design Studies – Non-accredited four-year degree
  • Graduate Certificate in Integrative Design

The School of Architecture fosters a collegial atmosphere among faculty, particularly through team-taught design studios. Collaborative and interdisciplinary scholarship is encouraged through the School’s integration of accredited architecture and architectural engineering programs and its integral role within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT). State-of-the-art facilities support both faculty and students in their teaching and research.

Candidate Credentials

Candidates are required to hold a terminal degree in Architecture through one of the following pathways:

  • NAAB-accredited Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) and post-professional degree (M.Arch. or M.S.) plus professional license.
  • NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) and professional license.
  • Ph.D. in Architecture.

Candidates with significant professional experience are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be versatile, capable of teaching both foundation and advanced-level design studios, and must demonstrate a clear creative and scholarly agenda. Candidates should also enrich the curriculum by offering new courses, engaging in service activities, and collaborating within a collegial academic environment.

Timeline
